Research from property portal Zoopla has found that rental growth in the U.K. has grown 2.8% year on year, with the average monthly rent sitting at £1,287 (US$1,742) per month, £35 more than a year ago. The increase marks the lowest annual inflation since July 2021. Zoopla points to affordability pressures and weak demand as driving the stagnating price growth, with renter advocacy group Generation Rent echoing the concern, saying tenants are stretched too thin to pay more. The proposal would eliminate the federal portion of the sales tax on a new home worth up to C$1 million provided it was purchased by first-time home buyers. BNN Bloomberg
