Good Morning! On this day in 2007, the legendary country music entertainer Porter Wagoner passed away in Nashville. Wagoner was known as a Grand Ole Opry staple who helped launch Dolly Parton’s career through their successful musical partnership.

2 Killed in Shooting at Cleveland Plastics Plant

Two supervisors were shot and killed Monday morning at Barku Plastics in Cleveland, Tennessee, in what police are calling a targeted workplace attack.

The suspect, believed to be a former employee, fled the scene and is still at large at the time of this writing, though authorities have located his vehicle outside a home in Bradley County.

Both victims were German nationals and supervisors at the plant. Local police and a SWAT team are urging residents to avoid the area as the search continues.

Farmers Market Boosts SNAP Before Freeze

As November SNAP benefits are halted, the Nashville Farmers' Market has revived a program that doubles EBT spending to help families stretch their food dollars.

With backing from a state grant, four local farms are matching SNAP purchases dollar for dollar, up to $100 per day.

The move comes as nearly 700,000 Tennesseans face food insecurity due to the suspension of federal aid.

Gov. Bill Lee has blamed congressional Democrats for the ongoing shutdown, saying the state lacks a way to distribute SNAP dollars without federal systems.

Most Mispronounced Places in Tennessee

From “MY-lin” (Milan) to “BURSH-uh-ba” (Beersheba), a new list highlights some of the most mispronounced places across Tennessee.

WKRN rounded up towns and streets that trip up newcomers, including Demonbreun (DEE-mun-bree-yun) in Nashville and Lebanon, commonly shortened to “Leb-nun.”

Other head-scratchers include Santa Fe (“SAN-tuh FEE”), Rhea County (“RAY”), and Ooltewah (“OO-ta-wah”), which has been called the hardest to pronounce in the state.
